Abstract: Aptamer-modified nanopipettes have the potential for nanoscale chemical mapping when integrated with scanning ion conductance microscopy. These biosensors selectively detect neurotransmitters via target-induced aptamer folding, which alters ionic flux through the nanopore. Nanoscale tips minimize biofouling, allowing real-time monitoring of serotonin and dopamine in vitro and ex vivo. These sensors serve as nanotools for probing neuronal communication at the interface of biosystems.
