Abstract: Multivalent metal-ion batteries (MMIBs) are the next-generation energy storage technologies beyond lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), showing attractive energy density, safety, and cost-efficiency. Our group is developing 2D materials, such as functionalized/hybrid inorganic 2D material and 2D carbon-rich framework materials (i.e., conjugated metal-organic frameworks-MOFs and covalent organic frameworks-COFs), with defined redox sites as active electrode materials to unleash the MMIB potential.
